At Hello Beautiful we strive to use even the littlest scrap of fabric, and this course will demonstrate how.
Perhaps you have favourite cherished fabric pieces you have been meaning to use for something special? Or maybe you have always wanted to learn how to make your own little furniture item for your home?
Then this workshop is for you!
This course will teach you how to create your very own Pouf using a pattern designed by Hello Beautiful Sewing & Design Inc. You will learn to construct a cover from multiple pieces of fabric.
What you will learn:
- Utilization of scraps
- Working with a colour palette
- Cutting techniques, cutting on diagonals
- Working with circles and seam allowances
- Working with grainlines & bias
- Making your own bias tape
- Sewing piping
- Sewing a zipper and other design details
- Sewing a drawstring bag
*Please note that this course is not suitable for beginners. You need to have made a few garments and have some basic construction skills prior to attending the course. Also note that depending on your speed & skill level, you might not be able to get this project 100% completed by the end of class. However you will leave with a project that is ready to be completed at home.
What to bring:
To make your Fabric Cover you may want to bring a medium weight décor fabric of your choosing.
If you don’t have your own fabric, we have a wide selection for purchase, such as canvas or upholstery-weight at reasonable costs ($5–$10 per 1/2m)
INCLUDED in the workshop fee:
- The inner bag kit (includes: material for drawstring bag, drawstrings & textile scraps to stuff your pouf with)
- Zipper
- Piping cord
- Pouf bottom for the Fabric Cover , class list with materials list of fabrics needed or optional preselected professional colour pre-packs kit available for $45 at the Studio upon arrival.

- Two 3-hours Sessions (6 hours total)
$199.50 (TAXES are included in price!) - Feb 18 10:30am to 1:30 pm
- Feb 25 10:30am to 1:30 pm
*The class will start promptly at the scheduled time. Please arrive 5 minutes early (or 15 minutes early if you are setting up your own machine)
*We have a limited number of machines available if you don’t have your own. If you need to book a machine, please let us know when you register.
